If you love #wildflowerhour, you could make it even bigger and better this year. We are always looking for volunteers to help out. Here’s how you can join in:
You don’t need to know anything about wildflowers to be able to do this. All you need to do is to be able to sort tweets asking for plant ID help into collections (it’s easy, and explained in more detail here) on a Sunday. Ideally we’d like two people on duty every Sunday as during flowering season there are so many ID requests to sort through. Currently we don’t have enough volunteers to cover our rota at all.
If you’d like to help schedule posts from the main wildflowerhour and herbology accounts, or if you’re keen to work on social media strategy, you could make a massive difference. We want to encourage thousands of people to go out wild Flower hunting, and that needs some serious social media power.
Are you a teacher who could help draw up botany-related lesson plans and help us get schools doing #herbologyhunt? This is one of our biggest pushes this year and it won’t happen unless you sign up.
You might have spotted something else that we are missing. In which case please get in touch! We are totally volunteer led and exist to spread the love and joy of wildflowers. Very simple.
